Your Itinerary
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi
We begin our 4-day journey from the city of Fes, where we will pick you up from your hotel in the morning with our private transport. We travel towards Merzouga, the gateway to Erg Chebbi where the fiery orange sand dunes of the Sahara Desert await.
On the way, we will stop by Ifrane to experience the Moroccan Switzerland before continuing our way through the Middle Atlas Mountains and the cedar forest of Azrou. At Azrou, we stop to play with the friendly Barbary Apes and make our way to the mineral mining town of Midelt for lunch thereafter.
After lunch, we continue our journey through Errachidia, making our way pass Ziz Valley, Aoufous and Erfoud before arriving at Merzouga. We will store our luggage at a local hotel and leave our modern transport to become true explorers traversing the Erg Chebbi sand dunes on camel backs to arrive at our camp site. Midway through, we will take a break to relax by sitting on the sand dunes to admire the beautiful sunset, take silhouette pictures and use your creativity to create a painting on the sand dunes.
At night, we will enjoy dinner at our campsite by the fire with drumming music, songs, laughter, and most of all, be mesmerized by the stars before retiring for the night in your Berber tent.

Day 2: Erg Chebbi – Merzouga – Khamlia Village – Merzouga
Wake up an hour early to live an hour more, you will rise early to witness sunrise over the Sahara and welcome a new day of adventure. After breakfast, we will depart from the desert on our camel backs and return to the hotel at Merzouga.
After freshening up, we will travel along the Erg Chebbi to see the giant dunes that resemble pyramids. From here, we travel to the Tissardmin, which is rich in fossils and has a varied landscape of mountains ranges, deserts and sandy dunes.
We continue our journey passing by nomadic settlements, making a stop to take in the view of the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi before arriving at Khamlia Village, also known as Gnawa Village, is famous for its indigenous dark-skinned inhabitants and “Gnawa music”, a body of Moroccan religious songs and rhythms. Here, we will enjoy a performance of Gnawa’s music before heading back to the hotel. With the afternoon free, you can explore Merzouga at leisure. At night, we will stay at Merzouga with dinner at the hotel.

Day 3: Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge
After breakfast, we will depart from the desert and make our way to the Dades Valley. Along the way, we will enjoy the old town of Alkhorabat, visit the museum and have lunch.
After the visit, we continue our drive through the Tafilalet region, the largest Saharan oasis of Morocco. We will explore the Todra Gorge on foot, which is known to be one of the most spectacular canyons in the world. After reaching the Dades Valley, we’ll set off on a guided hike (4 hours) through this epic landscape and gain a fascinating glimpse into life in this part of rural Morocco. Eventually, after traversing farmland and riverine forest, we’ll arrive at a series of striking rock formations, aptly named the Monkey Fingers due to their peculiar shape.

Day 4: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
In the morning, we travel through the Rose Valley to Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has been the filming backdrop for Hollywood movies such as Gladiator, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture once, and the fantasy TV series Game of Thrones. After the visit, we proceed to lunch before resuming our journey towards Ouarzazate.
From Ouarzazate, we return to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains and the spectacular Tizi n Tichka pass,marvel at the stunning landscape of rugged beauty and the picturesque Berber villages.
On arrival at Marrakech, we will drop you off at your hotel and hope we will have the opportunity again to show you more of Morocco the next time.
